How do I clean and maintain my textile jacket ?
• Washing:
To ensure that your clothes last as long as possible, we recommend that you machine wash them using the Wool program and do not spin them, taking care to use a mild detergent (preferably one that is non toxic and biodegradable). Never use softeners. Before washing, never forget to remove all of the protective shells as well as the thermal lining.
If your washing machine does not have a wool program, then we recommend that you wash the garment by hand in soapy water.
Then dry your garment on a coat hanger, away from any source of direct heat to avoid damaging the waterproofing.
For your thermal liner, use the delicate or synthetic textiles program without spinning and wash at a temperature that does not exceed 30°. Use a mild detergent (preferably one that is non toxic and biodegradable). Leave to dry on a coat hanger at ambient air temperature.
• Persistent stains:
If a stain remains after washing, you can rub the cloth with a nail brush and some liquid washing detergent.
• Waterproofing:
If after a few years your product is no longer waterproof, using some "waterproofing" products may extend its useful life.
• How do I clean and maintain my leather jacket/windbreaker?
To preserve the original qualities of Bering leather jackets, only the right maintenance will allow them to continue to face the aggressions encountered while riding a bike.
• Washing:
If major stains are observed (inset spots, various projections), we recommend that you remove as much as possible of the stain using soapy water and a sponge.
If your leather garment is wet, we recommend that you dry it on a coat hanger, away from any source of direct heat to avoid prematurely aging it.
• Maintenance:
Once cleaned and dried, it is important to nourish the leather: please remember that leather is a living material and that it is essential to maintain it so that it will not become altered over time.
To do this, here is our professional tip: Use the Bering leather maintenance kit (wipes are also available).
It includes a cleaner and a nourishing and protective cream to keep your leather looking like new.
